Honestly? Muddle Studios was born out of desperation. 😂

I'm Sam. Mum of two girls, former professional chef, and at the time- a woman who had not finished a hot bevy in what felt like three years.

 I was doing sensory play on the lounge room floor one afternoon, mostly because I'd run out of ideas and screen time guilt was eating me alive. And something happened that I wasn't expecting.

The girls just... played. By themselves. For an actually unreasonable amount of time.

I stood in the kitchen. I made a coffee. I drank the whole thing while it was still hot. I nearly cried.

But here's what really got me. My girls can struggle big time- anxiety, big feelings, the kind of emotional weather that comes out of nowhere and takes everyone down with it. Sensory play didn't just keep them busy. It genuinely helped them regulate. They were calmer. Softer. More themselves. I started to understand that the fizzing, the mixing, the pouring- it does something to a child's nervous system that I can't fully explain but I have absolutely seen with my own eyes.

And I thought- other mums need this. Especially the ones who are in the thick of it with sensitive, spirited, neurodiverse kids. The ones who are Googling things at midnight and wondering if they're doing it all wrong.

You're not, by the way. You're doing great. This is just really hard sometimes.

So I wanted to create something beautiful for your kids. Not cheap and plasticky. Not so precious you're stressed about the mess. Something that could handle real life- real kids, real chaos, real Tuesday afternoons when everyone is losing their minds. Because lets be real, some of our angels can get really frustrated and start testing their throwing baseball arm!

Every powder is hand-blended with food grade, taste safe ingredients in batches- because of course they put it in their mouths, they always do. Every bowl, every spoon, every piece of equipment is chosen because it's beautiful, because it fits perfectly in little hands, and because it holds up when life gets in the way and the washing up has to wait. Because it always has to wait. We know.

Every kit is packed with the kind of care that makes a child feel like they've been handed something genuinely special.
